Kristi hartman - Sycamore Director

Kristi is delighted to rejoin Fremont Community School as a director in August 2026, having taught at FCS from 2011-12. Passionate about Waldorf education, she has been part of the greater Puget Sound Waldorf community since 2005, raising three daughters in Waldorf schools with her husband of 26 years. As a parent volunteer, Kristi was inspired to shift careers from law, insurance, and real estate to become a Waldorf teacher. She holds degrees in Early Childhood Education and Human

Development, and is a certified Waldorf teacher for children from birth to eighth grade. A dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada, she received her training at Sound Circle Center in Seattle and West Coast Institute for Anthroposophical Studies in Vancouver, B.C., and attended Sunbridge Institute for her Collaborative Leadership certificate. Kristi has served in roles from teaching and administration to mentoring at Waldorf schools throughout the area, and continues her study to more deeply understand how to meet developmental challenges affecting learning and behavior at Waldorf Learning Support in Chicago. Kristi enjoys volunteering in the community and served as a court-appointed special advocate for foster children for 20 years. She has lived in many places throughout the U.S., and always returns to the beauty of the northwest where she enjoys being on the water and spending time with her family and many, many pets.
