Haley Buchanan - Sycamore Assistant Director

Haley was born and raised in Kansas but moved to Seattle in 2016 after falling in love with the Pacific Northwest and has never looked back. She and her dog, Jim, enjoy spending time outdoors, often camping and kayaking throughout the summer. Haley's cat, Isla, loves to curl up and watch horror movies with her. Haley has a deep passion for music and theater, and you can usually find her humming a tune or playing an instrument. While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and Archaeology at the University of Kansas, she worked as an assistant teacher, which solidified her love for teaching and set her on her career path. Over the past 12 years, she has dedicated her career to fostering the growth of young children. There’s nothing quite like witnessing the 'lightbulb moment' when a child grasps a new concept; that pride in their learning brings her immense joy.
