APPLICATION PROCESS

Age Guideline -

• 2024-25 School Year - 30 months by September 9th, 2024

• Accepted students may be in diapers and do not have to be potty-trained to attend FCS. Find out if your child is ready to attend the Orchard Preschool!

Openings and Application Deadlines -

• 2024-25 New Student Applications - We are accepting applications for our 2024-25 Morning Preschool and After School Care programs.

Application Fee - One-time, $100 non-refundable, non-transferable application fee due per child upon submission of application.

Upon Acceptance to FCS, all students must have the following items on file by the deadline specified in the acceptance letter to guarantee enrollment:

• Returning Students who are accepted

  • Signed Tuition Contract and the non-refundable, non-transferable Tuition Deposit ($500 for the morning program and $350 for the after-school care fixed schedule tuition program).

• New Students who are accepted

  • Signed Tuition Contract, one-time non-refundable, non-transferable $110 New Student Registration Fee, and the non-refundable, non-transferable Tuition Deposit ($500 for the morning program and $350 for the after-school care fixed schedule tuition program).

2023-2024

SUMMER program (June 5 - september 1)

SUMMER FREEDOM: June 3rd through August 30th, 2024

FCS’ Summer Program offers half-day (morning or afternoon) or full-day programs (full-day in conjunction with Tara's Tots Songbirds – a preschool next door to our school). 

• Our morning program is from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, and we provide lunch and snack.

• Our Afternoon Program is from 1 pm to 5 pm, and we provide snack.

• Theme of the Week: FCS will offer a different theme each week to engage the children in projects addressing art and nature. (The Outline is attached.)

Please Note: Four (4) Hour Rule: FCS complies with Washington State's "Four Hours or Less" Preschool Program, which means that Children can attend FCS for up to 4 hours PER DAY maximum.   

Options for the summer:

1. Month to Month Summer Preschool with options for 3-, 4-, or 5-day schedules

2. Week to Week Camps with 5-day attendance required

Month-to-Month Summer Preschool Option

Morning Monthly Tuition and Lunch: Afternoon Monthly Tuition:

3-Day Program: $985 3-Day Program: $750

4-Day Program: $1,270 4-Day Program: $1,000

5-Day Program: $1,570 5-Day Program: $1,250

Summer tuition is divided into three equal monthly installments. Monthly installments are billed in advance and the first installment is due upon signing of the contract and subsequent tuition installments are due on June 25, 2024 and July 25, 2024.  

Taking one month off: If a family wishes to take one month off during the summer, (i.e., the month of July), they must sign an addendum to the tuition contract.  Notice must be given by the 15th of the month prior to the month the child will not be in attendance. The addendum will confirm the month the child will not attend and billing for that month will be suspended once the addendum is signed.

Week to Week Camps -  5-Day Attendance Option

Registration Fee per week:

• Morning is $400 and includes Lunch and Snack

• Afternoon is $375 and includes Snack

Families may sign up their child on a weekly basis and the registration fee is billed in advance. A two-week notice of cancellation is required to receive a refund and there is a cancellation fee of $40 for each week canceled. There is no reduction for missed days due to illness or other absences.

2024-2025

MORNING & Afternoon PRESCHOOL (September - May)

Please note that we did NOT increase our tuition over the current year’s rates. The only change to this is an additional fee for providing meals and snacks for our Morning and Afterschool Programs.

Meals Provided! We are happy to announce that we will offer lunch and snacks. Our food is vegetarian, organic, and able to accommodate most allergies/dietary restrictions.  Children will learn in-depth about the process of preparing meals, from starting seeds and growing plants to chopping, cooking, and cleaning up! We’ve attached a sample menu, and please note this is subject to change based on seasonal availability. We do charge a lunch fee according to the number of days your child attends during the week.

The annual monthly tuition and lunch fees are divided into nine (9) equal installment payments, with the first tuition payment due September 1, 2024.

2024-25 Morning Preschool Tuition Rates
School Year (Sept-May) Tuition:

• 3-Day Program: $8,402 + Lunch Fee of $465 = $8,867 Total

• 4-Day Program: $10,818 + Lunch Fee of $620 = $11,438 Total

• 5-Day Program: $13,344 + Lunch Fee of $775 = $14,119 Total

Monthly Tuition:

• 3-Day Program: $933.56 + Lunch Fee of $51.66 = $985.22 Total

• 4-Day Program: $1,202.00 + Lunch Fee of $68.89 = $1,270.89 Total

• 5-Day Program: $1,482.67 + Lunch Fee of $86.11 = $1,568.78 Total

2024-25 After-School Care Tuition Rates School Year (Sept-May) Tuition:

• 3-Day Program: $6,750

• 4-Day Program: $8,999

• 5-Day Program: $11,249                 

Monthly Tuition:

• 3-Day Program: $750.00

• 4-Day Program: $999.89

• 5-Day Program: $1249.89

FINANCIAL AID

As a small nonprofit, FCS has limited funds to offer to families in need of financial aid.  With these funds, we aim to ease the financial burden of tuition for families who are currently enrolled and are experiencing financial hardship.  Funds allocated in the budget and money raised through fundraising efforts will be distributed to enrolled families.

We encourage parents (and grandparents!) to participate in making a direct and positive difference in the lives of our children through a one-time or recurring donation. Application Process

There is one call for applications during the school year.  Needs that arise at other times of the year can be presented to the Financial Aid Committee for case-by-case review.  Applicants must complete the FCS Financial Aid Application and provide all requested supporting financial documents, including the previous year’s tax return.

Eligibility: To be considered for financial aid:

• The child must attend school at least three days per week

• The child may attend either the morning or afternoon program

• The family must meet the qualifying income levels for financial aid
