Paige rafferty - Sycamore Lead Teacher

Miss Paige joined FCS in the summer of 2023 as an Assistant Teacher in the baby program and has since taken on the role of Lead Teacher. Paige brings a rich background in education and a deep passion for both teaching and the outdoors.

She earned her Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in literature from California State University Monterey Bay, where she also delved into sustainability practices. Paige furthered her education with a Multiple Subject Credential Program and English Learner Authorization. Her undergraduate research on incorporating environmental sustainability practices in elementary schools, inspired by Waldorf education, highlights her commitment to integrating innovative practices into the classroom.

Paige’s diverse teaching experience spans kindergarten, special education, and a love for experiential education. She has taught through backcountry youth expeditions and surf instruction, utilizing outdoor settings to ignite students' curiosity about science, marine science, environmental ethics, and native restoration.

Having taught across the country, Paige has now made Seattle her home. As the Lead Teacher in the baby room, she infuses her love for music and nature into her teaching, delighting the children with her ukulele, harmonica, and guitar. Outside of school, Paige enjoys exploring Seattle’s forests, mountains, and beaches.

We are thrilled to have Paige’s expertise and enthusiasm enriching our classroom and look forward to all the wonderful experiences she will continue to bring to our students!
