Ane Cortabarria Fernandez, Orchard Lead Teacher

Ane, our Morning Lead Teacher, is from the Basque Country and moved to Seattle several years ago with the objective of improving her English, travelling, and learning more about other places in the world. She is fluent in Basque, Spanish, and the English language, and due to her love for languages, she studied French and German during her high school and university years. Ane has been involved in child education for about eight years, both in formal and non-formal education. She studied different educational approaches in her Elementary Teaching degree at Mondragon University in Spain with an emphasis in Foreign Language. Recently, Ane was a Spanish Immersion lead-teacher for preschoolers and Kindergarteners. She loves travelling, nature, and exercising the mind and body. Ane completed a Yoga Certification for kids and is currently furthering her yoga teaching skills with Yoga Ed. She loves carrying out yoga sessions in her classes and sharing the benefits of yoga to her students and community. Ane has also experiences as a toddler assistant teacher, sports and drama instructor, summer camp coordinator and Elementary teacher assistant.
